HD Hyundai OCI is a specialized carbon black manufacturer established in 2016 through a joint venture between HD Hyundai Oilbank, Korea’s leading refinery with advanced facilities, and OCI, the nation’s largest carbon black company.

We source raw materials from HD Hyundai Oilbank and, leveraging OCI’s accumulated carbon black manufacturing expertise, produce competitive carbon black products for both domestic and global markets.

Since commencing commercial operations in 2018 with an annual capacity of 100,000 tons, we expanded by an additional 50,000 tons in 2019, bringing our current production capacity to 150,000 tons per year. Through continuous improvements in equipment efficiency and process optimization, we have achieved an average productivity increase of 7% annually, while maintaining close communication with our customers to deliver the highest quality products.

Looking ahead, we are committed to aligning with the global pursuit of sustainable industries. As a first step, in 2024 we successfully supplied our customers with circular carbon black produced by recycling resources such as waste tires and plastics, marking our official entry into the tire recycling economy. Building on this, we aim to provide high-performance carbon black optimized for next-generation mobility sectors, including electric vehicles and eco-friendly tires, positioning ourselves as a key material partner for the future mobility industry.
